Add New Data
THiNK accepts genetic, proteomic, and general research data files. Once uploaded, the AI agent can immediately begin answering questions about your data with no configuration required.
Supported file formats
- Genetics: VCF (.vcf, .vcf.gz), PLINK (.bed/.bim/.fam), 23andMe, AncestryDNA
- Proteomics: TSV/CSV exports from TMT, Somascan, and any processed proteomics files
- General: CSV, TSV, and Excel files for phenotype or metadata tables
Uploading a File
- Open THiNK: Navigate to the THiNK tab from the top navigation bar on DASH
- Click Upload: Select thebutton on the left side of the chat box or drag and drop a file directly into the chat window
- Select your file: Browse your computer and select the file you want to analyze
- Ask questions: Once the file is finished uploading, you're ready to ask questions!
Already annotated in DASH?
If you have previously annotated a genetic VCF file using DASH (Bystro Classic) or by submitting it in a previous THiNK question, that processed file will automatically appear in your THiNK data panel when you click on the . No need to re-upload.
Using a Public Dataset
Don't have your own data yet? THiNK includes a library of public genetic and proteomic datasets you can use immediately to explore the platform's capabilities.
- Open the data panel: Click Public Data in the top navigation bar
- Select a dataset: Choose from curated public datasets including population genetics cohorts
- Load and explore: Click + Add to new chat and then select Create New Chat so you can start asking questions immediately using that dataset
💡 Tips for Best Results
- ▶Compress large VCF files with gzip before uploading to speed up processing
- ▶Include a phenotype or metadata CSV alongside your genetic file for richer analysis
- ▶For 23andMe files, use the raw data export (not the reports) for full coverage
